HOW TO RESCHEDULE A MATCH

If one of the Captains informs an opposing captain that his/her team cannot play a match for whatever reason, the match is to be rescheduled. When a match has to be postponed, teams have up to two weeks to reschedule a match, until two weeks before the season ends, then a game must be rescheduled within one week of the original playing time.

1.    The captains who need to make up a game on a specific court should first check on the Reserve My Court app to see if that court has been reserved for practice by another team. If so, they should reach out to the captain that has that reservation PRIOR to arriving at the court, and request that the court be relinguished to the teams needing it for a make-up game. If they can’t reach the captain who has the court, they should attempt to play their rematch at a court on the same side that is open and not just go to the original court expecting the practice team to leave.

2.    A Captain who has reserved a court for a practice that is needed for a make-up game should relinquish that court if requested by the Captains who need it for a rematch.

3.    The League prefers that all make-up games be played on the original court where the match was to have been played.

4.    However, to avoid problems where the same court that was scheduled for the original match is not available, the makeup game can be played on a court ON THE SAME SIDE as the originally scheduled match. Subsequently, a Kiva Court makeup game may be played on any Kiva Court and a Mita Court makeup game may be played on either Mita Court.

5. Captains should indicate on that week's scoresheet that the match is being rescheduled and when it will take place.

6. When the rescheduled match is played, the captains are to complete the Make-up Sheet, found in the scoresheet notebooks, to indicate the scores and when the original match was to have been played.

7.Contacting Scorekeepers When Rescheduling: Captains are to contact court scorekeepers when rescheduling matches.

  -   Teams planning to reschedule a match MUST contact the volunteer scorekeeper for that court so the Club knows the match is going to be played at a time other than scheduled.
